Welcome: Welcome to anyone who tracked us down from our Craigslist posts this morning. Many of us use CL regularly to make purchases, sell stuff, and give it away for free, so it is very natural for us to post about Socks & Gloves on CL. We put up the ads in order to advertise our Turkey in the Park event, which is coming this Sunday, 12/02/07 at 3pm in Fremont Park (15th & P Street). The event is for homeless folks, but also for anyone who might be in a tough place and would benefit from a hot meal.
Getting Involved: As a result of the ads, there have been several people already who have expressed a desire to get involved in what we are doing or to donate in some capacity. Therefore, we wanted to direct you to the Turkey in the Park Sign-Up Post in order to discover practical ways to partner with us. Also, see the Guess Who is Coming to Dinner? post in order to donate an hour of time on this coming Saturday to pass out invitation flyers for Turkey in the Park. Simply follow the instructions from the posts above and you'll be set. And of course, make sure to read through our site at www.socksandgloves.org in order to get a feel for what we are about and how we operate.

Our new CL friends are awesome!
1 person offered to donate a Turkey if there is someone who will cook it. Since my oven already has a Turkey for this event is there someone else willing to cook?

Thanks everyone. This has been a busy day of talking with quite a few CL contacts. Keep up the communication, and let us know if you plan to attend an event, pass out flyers, or donate. This will help us plan and be prepared.
