Word spreads quickly on the street; and, people also don't plan very far in advance. An invitation the night before the event is the perfect timing to get a hungry person mobilized to pack up their camp, or arrange for a friend to watch their stuff so that they can come out to the park to join us for the TIP event.
I need some company to wander the streets in the dark; so, if you can't go pray that God will bring together just the right group for this first TIP exposure to the homeless community for 2007. We also need donations of small items to pass out with the invitation cards as kind of a foretaste of something better to come at the feast the next day (like granola/protein bars or juice boxes). If you have something to donate please let us know!

Kellie and I will not be able to attend the Socks and Gloves event before Turkey In The Park due to the fact we need and want to be at our home church that night and also does not look like we will be able to pass out flyers the night before TIP but I do have alot of snack foods that would be good to hand out with all the flyers. Let me know who to drop that stuff with.

Shane & Ann are going to pass out invitation cards Sat. night. We're looking for 1 or 2 more volunteers.
Props to Rob & Cara who donated bottled water for the Nov. 25 outreach -- we have enough left over to pass out more water Sat. evening.
We're still looking for granola bars or something foodish for Sat. evening.
I will see what I can do to join you Saturday night. Not sure yet, but I'll keep you posted.
I'm watching the kids, so coming is a no go, but I just found out that Love & Jess from Cordova N-hood will be joining you guys.
Heather from CL is coming to help with the invites. We'll meet her at the steps on the I St. side of the park near the Ceasar Chaves statue. (That way people can wait in their car if they arrive before the group.)
