A Quick FYI

By the way, I am meeting next week with the pastor of our church to talk about Socks & Gloves as something that church members can participate in. It's good to have many different folks on board in order to walk out vision, huh. I wonder too if any local businesses would want to jump on board as plans are made for the Fall, with particular emphasis on Turkey in the Park (remember last year how Tyson's company went all out).

Hasta.

Cool! I hope it goes well with your pastor. Keep us posted. Last week Ty was able to involve the people of City Life in putting together the multi-packs we passed out. It's a good thing to invite people to this task.

We should start promoting TIP in Sept. with businesses, churches and friends to recruit help. Do you think we should have a new TIP layout or just put new dates on last year's stuff?

Great to hear about City Life. Right on. If it ain't broke, why fix it? Let's just use the same stuff as last year. We could probably simply copy the old blog post, use the same flyer, etc... If possible, would you be willing to be the person to help us think begin to think through what it will take to pull this off? Let us know. By no means am I saying that this is on your shoulders, but if you could get the ball rolling....

By the way, what park are we doing this at?

I think we should have it at Ceaser Chavez!

I like the idea of Caesar; but, I know there's already a lot going on down there on most Sun. AM's. We should make a point to stop by on some random Sundays in the early afternoon to see what all is still going on at the Turkey in the Park time.

If Caesar ends up not being a match, we did have some sizable success at Winn park a few years ago. Winn is at P & 27th. The park at P & 15th also seems to have a small homeless gathering, too. It may well be though, that Caesar proves to be our best option.

I'll re-work our TIP flyers and review our donation list for posting. I'll try to start a template for a church/business recruitment donation flyer/brochure for this year, too. I'd like to see us getting more corporate donations this time around.

That's a good point about Ceasar often times being crowded out and worked. I do remember Winn being succesful. The big question is where homeless folks are going to be haning out and how far of a walk/ride it will be for them to get to the particular part. That is the key in my mind.

Thanks House of Grace for putting together the post and flyer. That is such a great help for all of us.
