Our first Socks & Gloves night will be coming up on January 28th at 6:30pm (the 4th Sunday). I thought it might be cool then to put our brains together and think about anything we can bring that would bless people we meet and help them out a bit. Any ideas? Anyone have capabilities of bringing hot drinks? We still need one of those backpacks. I will be bringing some old clothes that I hope will bless some men in need. And does anyone have any hook-ups for additional socks, gloves, beanies, blankets, etc...?
And in the bigger picture, as it is now January, any ideas for the year ahead in our efforts with the homeless? There was the mention of doing a Talent Show, maybe something involving music, a BBQ... Let's be creative and think through what we will do this year. So feel free to throw out an idea by commenting below. It would be great to bat around ideas and then get some dates on the calendar. And remember, your ideas and dreams can become a reality and we can truly help to meet temporary needs of roofless friends, while having an eye on how to assist in long term ways of helping people find relational healing, spiritrual transformation, overcome addictions, find their way back into society, etc...
